L'Unité Comparative d'Exposition au bruit (UCEden) est un indice basé sur l'indice de bruit Lden et est évalué sur base de la cartographie stratégique du bruit. L'exposition d'un site est caractérisée en fonction du nombre de personnes gênées et du niveau Lden réel auquel ces personnes sont exposées. A cet effet, l'UCE au bruit des transports terrestres est définie suivant la formule indiquée dans la légende où l'UCEden est sans unité, et N correspond au nombre d'habitations sur le site, Pi correspond au nombre de personnes domiciliées à l'habitation i, et Li est égal au niveau de bruit Lden à la façade la plus exposée de l'habitation i. Bien que le niveau Li soit exprimé en dB, l'UCEden est en fait un indicateur sans dimension, combinant les personnes exposées et le niveau d'exposition de l'habitation qu'elles occupent. The Comparative Noise Exposure Unit (UCEden) is an index based on the Lden noise index and is evaluated on the basis of strategic noise mapping. Die „Unité Comparative d’Exposition au bruit“ (UCEden) ist ein Index, der auf dem Lärmindex Lden basiert und auf der Grundlage von strategischen Lärmkarten bewertet wird. Die Exposition eines Standortes wird nach der Anzahl der belästigten Personen und dem tatsächlichen Lden Level, dem diese Personen ausgesetzt sind, charakterisiert. Zu diesem Zweck wird der UCE für den Landverkehr nach der in der Legende angegebenen Formel definiert, wobei der UCEden ohne Einheit ist und N der Anzahl der Wohngebäude auf dem Gelände entspricht, Pi der Anzahl der im Wohngebäude i wohnenden Personen entspricht und Li dem Lärmpegel Lden an der am stärksten exponierten Fassade des Wohngebäudes i entspricht. Obwohl der Li-Pegel in Dezibel (dB) angegeben wird, ist der UCEden eigentlich ein dimensionsloser Indikator, der die exponierten Personen und den Expositionspegel des Wohngebäudes, das sie bewohnen, kombiniert.
